  • Fruit: banana, unsweetened applesauce, dried mangos
  • Grains: oatmeal, quinoa, pasta, rice, veggie burgers

Tips On Making And Serving Breakfasts

  • Prep Ahead To save your sanity during the busy weekday mornings prep one or two breakfast recipes that can be stored in the fridge or freezer on the weekend. That way you can just heat and serve without much thought. This, this, this and this are some of our favorite freezer-friendly recipes.
  • Picky-Eaters You dont need to feel the pressure to add in veggies or foods that your child doesnt care for in the morning. Go with a breakfast they like and if you have the time add in fruit, yogurt, meat or other food they dont care for as much on the side to expose your toddler to other food options as well.
  • One Breakfast for the Entire Family Make one breakfast for baby, toddler, kids and you! I developed these breakfast recipes for toddlers and kids, but I eat them as well! One meal for the whole family! So dont think that you have to make an extra meal just for yourself. I do usually add sriracha, butter or syrup to my portion depending on what the recipe is.

Breakfast Ideas For An 11

8 Month Old Baby

Breakfast is often dubbed “the most important meal of the day,” and with good reason. As Kids Health explains, your infant’s body needs refueling after hours of fasting during sleep. Kids who skip breakfast may be cranky later in the day, and do not function at their best. Start your 11-month-old off right with a nutritious and appealing meal in the morning.

Eleven-month-old babies can eat many table foods, but since they are not quite a year old, some ingredients may need to be changed in popular foods. French toast is an easy-to-make and easy-to-eat food for older babies. Ask your pediatrician if it is safe to give your not-quite-1-year-old egg whites. If not, use only the yolks and milk to coat the bread. Since your baby should not drink cow’s milk yet, use soy milk or baby formula to mix with the egg. Serve French toast plain babies do not need cinnamon or syrup. Slice up some soft fruit, such as bananas or ripe peaches to serve alongside the French toast.

Homemade muffins can be chock-full of nutrients and are convenient. Freeze a batch and thaw one each evening for the next morning’s breakfast. If you don’t have time to make homemade muffins, add applesauce, grated carrot or mashed banana to packaged muffin mix for a healthy boost. Remember not to give your baby muffins that contain nuts, as these are a choking hazard. Also, check the ingredient labels for products that your baby should not be eating yet, such as egg whites and milk.

Baby Led Weaning Egg Muffins

We love eggs in our house, in fact it is one of our absolutely favourite healthy breakfasts ever! But, how do you give eggs to a new baby starting baby led weaning? In little baby led weaning muffins of course! The best part about this recipe is that it is full of yummy ingredients, veggies, cheese, they are easy to pick up for little hands and boy do they taste amazing!

A Few Tips For Feeding Your Bubs:

Tip 1: I do find that for foods that are harder for him to eat like rice and quinoa, I love mashing some sweet potato or avocado in it to make it easier to feed!

Tip 2: Buy an ice cube tray or something similar so you can freeze food for your bubba too. I always freeze some mashed peas or sweet potato to have on hand and some of my baked goods, oatmeal, anything!

Tip 3: Dont force something if they arent into it. The other night Ezra was screaming over having peas. Meanwhile he ate them the last two nights no problem. I saved the peas for the next day and quickly mashed some avocado and sautéed zucchini to go with his dinner instead. I never want him to feel pressured to eat food he doesnt want.

Tip 4: We are still trying to get Ez to feed himself more . I like to save a few pieces after he is done and let him play with the food after. Sometimes he gets it in his mouth but more often than not it is on the floor

Tip 5: Keep unsweetened dried fruit like mangos in your stroller or diaper bag for when your bubba gets cranky. I always give these to Ezra and it also teaches him to hold the food/put in his mouth.

Tip 6: We always offer the food on holidays for Ez. He doesnt have separate food. On the jewish holiday, we gave him matzo ball soup, brisket, potatoes, etc. It was great to introduce him to these and it also is more inclusive for him.

Hope this is helpful for my mamas and papas!

xx, Rach

How Much Food Should A Baby Eat At This Stage

Most often eight-month-old babies feed actively but sometimes they may throw tantrums while eating and get distracted away from food due to their new-found mobility. Babies who start crawling by this age, usually feed on the go as they show more interest in exploring the things around them. A typical eight-month-old baby should have three solid meals and two snacks along with at least two sessions of breastfeeding or formula feeding.

Cottage Cheese With Hemp Seeds And Pear

Rava porridge recipes for babies ||Breakfast recipes for babies 8 months old by kottayam kitchen

Cottage cheese is packed with protein and is thick, so it can be eaten by baby with a short spoon or their fingers. I like to sprinkle on some hemp seeds for added healthy fats and pair with fruit like the thick slices of ripe pear shown here.

You could sprinkle a little cinnamon onto the cottage cheese if you prefer, too.

Brekkie Tips For Daycare Babies

Do you often feel like youre in a mad rush every morning? Aside from preparing the kids for school or daycare, there are countless to-dos with so little time. There may be mornings when it can be hard to get your children to eat breakfast before heading out the door. Youre not alone in this dilemma.

But a good breakfast is important, and babies should have enough time to enjoy their meals. Here are practical suggestions that can help:

  • Meal planning can go a long way. You can prepare and plan your meal the night before. Cut up fruits and vegetables or get the dishes and utensils ready.
  • It may be a good idea to stock up on healthy breakfast options that you can easily freeze and reheat.
  • Keeping a list of meal ideas can also help you plan your meals.
  • It can also help if you have ready-to-go foods during extra busy times.
  • Eating in the car can be a choking hazard. It may be best if you get everyone up 10 minutes earlier, so you can all sit down for breakfast together.
  • You can also inquire with your daycare provider if they can offer breakfast. You can also see if its possible to send a packed breakfast for your baby to eat as soon as they arrive at the daycare center.
