All the food is delicious and large portions. I asked the waitress how the horchata is and she deservingly so, just laughed. The horchata is the best Ive ever had in my entire life. The breakfast tacos are on an elite level and enchiladas are very very good as well. Chandler S.

Breakfast On The Riverwalk

Ok I haven’t seen this one on the forum…

Does anybody know if any of the restaurants on the

All the full service hotels on the river serve breakfast. Actually, many of the restaurants do as well, but my very favorite place for breakfast is not on the River Walk, but at the Guenther House, in the King William historic district. It’s a 5 minute drive from most places on the river. It takes me about 25 minutes to walk there along the River Walk from the most central of hotels. You can reach it via trolley as well.

Picture of exterior:

Here’s their breakfast menu:

It’s a favorite with locals and tourists alike.

Zuni Grill has a good breakfast on the RW

Las Canarias has an excellent breakfast on the RW at the La Mansion del Rio Hotel

agree with the above posts…a favorite of mine is Guenther House…biscuits and gravy/ stawberry photos in my profile

restaurant is part of the original German home of the foundres of Pioneer Flour

not too many on the riverwalk ..Zuni is the main one….Las Canarias is a highly rated buffet/brunch

…there are a handful of breakfat taco places near the RW

strawberry/cream waffle…photos in my profile

Another vote for

Guenther House is not on the map I have linked to but follow the river south into the King William District and Guenther House is at the end of the Riverwalk. Bottom right of the map.

Sounds complicated, but it truly is not!

Most Scenic Breakfast In San Antonio: The Guenther House

Many years ago, my husband and I took the day off from work and grabbed breakfast at Guenther House. Sure, Magnolia is better known for its pancakes than Guenther House, but the charm of Guenthers is in its location and ambiance. You can eat your pancakes in a gorgeous old mansion while overlooking the San Antonio Riverwhats more magical than that?

As far as food goes, the menu is a lot simpler than what youll find at Magnolia, but the food is still out of this world. I recommend at least trying a stack of pancakes here, but the Chicken & Sweet Cream Waffle is always my go-to. If you want a little bit of everything, try the Breakfast Platter, which comes with biscuits, sausage, jam, fruit, and your choice of protein .
