Can you freeze breakfast sausage? Yes! These breakfast sausages freeze perfectly and are great for keeping on hand for busy mornings.
I store them in stasher bags, but you could also put them in airtight containers to prevent freezer burn.
Reheating: You can defrost these sausages by putting them in the toaster oven, or heating them in a pan for 5-10 mins. You can also pop them in the microwave for a minute or two!

How To Make This Chicken Sausage Hash Brown Casserole
First, partially thaw the chicken sausage and cut it into bite size pieces. Preheat your oven to 375Â°F and spray a 9×13â casserole dish with cooking spray.
Heat a skillet over medium high heat and add one tablespoon of the oil. Add the chicken sausage and cook until golden brown, then remove to a plate and set aside.
Lower the heat to medium and add more oil to the skillet. Add the onions and hash browns and cook 5-7 minutes or according to package directions, seasoning with half of the sea salt and black pepper. Cook until light golden brown.
In the prepared casserole dish, layer the hash browns and sausage and stir to combine, then top with the dairy free cheddar. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and remaining salt and pepper. Pour over the sausage hash brown and cheese in the casserole dish, and use a spatula or spoon to cover evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until set. Garnish with scallions and serve hot.

I cant remember when it was exactly that I realized you could easily make your own breakfast sausage at home. I think it was when we started getting ground meat from a local universitys farm and the ingredients were literally, pork, red pepper, thyme, salt.
Guys, sausage is just ground meat and seasonings. Putting it into casings is a whole other project .
Im talking about the crumbly bulk sausage or sausage patties. Smoked sausage is a little different, though. Im trying to manifest a Traeger into my life. If you have one you can really take your sausage making to a new level.
I found some organic ground chicken at Costco for this, but you could use ground turkey or ground pork. Personally, I find ground turkey too dry and ground pork too greasy, so I like to combine them. Ground chicken doesnt seem to be quite as dry to me.
What To Enjoy This Chicken Breakfast Sausage Recipe With:
Chicken breakfast sausage pairs well with a lot of different breakfast foods. You could do a simple pairing with keto pancakes or my keto almond flour waffles.
If breakfast sandwiches are more your speed, you could pair these sausages with low-carb bread or my fathead dough bagels, an egg, and cheese. Or, you could make a really deluxe and delicious sandwich by also adding air fryer bacon and a few slices of avocado!
